Product Description:– Tridyl combines Trifluoperazine, one of the potent typical antipsychotic ingredients with Trihexyphenidyl, an anticholinergic which is used to prevent extrapyramidal side effects (EPS). This combination offers effective control of anxiety, tension, and mild psychotic symptoms with better patient tolerability.
Mechanism of Action:-
- Trifluoperazine: Blocks dopamine D2 receptors → reduces agitation, delusions, paranoia
- Trihexyphenidyl: Restores dopamine-acetylcholine balance → prevents rigidity, tremors, and EPS
Indication:– Schizophrenia and parkinson’s disease, Psychoneurotic conditions with motor restlessness.
Common Side Effects:-
- Drowsiness, dizziness
- Dry mouth, blurred vision
- Mild constipation
- Rare extrapyramidal symptoms.
