Product description:- Desvenlafaxine is the major active metabolite of Venlafaxine while offering consistent and reliable SNRI action with an  improved tolerability. It is primarily used to treat Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and is also known for its effectiveness in physical and emotional symptoms of depression.

Mechanism of Action:- Desvenlafaxine works by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine in the central nervous system, thereby inducing :

• Reduced physical symptoms of depression like fatigue and sleep issues.

• Enhancing neurotransmitter levels in the synaptic cleft.

• Improving mood, emotional stability, and energy levels.

Indication:- Desvenlafaxine is only approved for treating depression, while venlafaxine is also approved for anxiety, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder

Common side effects:-

• Nausea, dry mouth

• Dizziness, insomnia

• Sweating, constipation

• Elevated blood pressure
