Product description:– Psypin contains Aripiprazole, a unique drug formulation having atypical antipsychotic which is known as a dopamine system stabilizer. It offers broad-spectrum efficacy in the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and as an adjunct in major depressive disorder. Unlike many other antipsychotics, it has a lower risk of weight gain, sedation, and metabolic issues, making it suitable for both acute and long-term management.
Mechanism of action :-
- Partial agonist at dopamine D2 receptors – stabilizes dopamine levels, reducing both hyperactivity and underactivity
- Partial agonist at 5-HT1A receptors – improves mood and anxiety symptoms
- Antagonist at 5-HT2A receptors – reduces psychotic symptoms
Indication:- Bipolar I disorder (manic-depressive illness), major depressive disorder, and schizophrenia.
Common Side Effects :-
- Headache, nausea
- Insomnia or restlessness
- Akathisia (inner restlessness – dose dependent)
- Mild anxiety or dizziness
