AMITRIPTYLINE HYDROCHLORIDE AND CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE TABLETS

Product description:– This fixed-dose combination contains Amitriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant, and Chlordiazepoxide, an anxiolytic benzodiazepine. Together, they are used to manage depression with associated anxiety or agitation, and may also help in psychosomatic and somatoform disorders, insomnia related to anxiety, and irritable bowel syndrome with a psychological component.

Mechanism of action:-

Amitriptyline: Inhibits the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine in the central nervous system, improving mood and emotional stability.
Chlordiazepoxide: Enhances the effect of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), producing anxiolytic, sedative, and muscle-relaxant effects.

Indication:– Depression & anxiety, including nervousness or anxiety that happens before a surgery.
