Prolar F is an advanced sustained-release formulation combining Propranolol 40 mg, a non-selective beta-blocker, and Flunarizine 10 mg, a calcium channel blocker. This synergistic combination is designed to provide effective management of migraine by reducing the frequency, severity, and duration of migraine attacks. The sustained-release technology ensures an equal release of active ingredients, offering 24-hour therapeutic coverage with once-daily dosing for enhanced patient compliance.
Mechanism of Action
- Propranolol: Reduces heart rate and blood pressure by blocking beta-adrenergic receptors, stabilizing vascular tone and decreasing migraine triggers.
- Flunarizine: Inhibits calcium influx in vascular smooth muscle and neuronal cells, preventing vasoconstriction and reducing migraine frequency.
Dosage and Administration
- Recommended Dose: One Prolar F tablet once daily, preferably at the same time each day, with or without food.
- Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush or chew to preserve the sustained-release mechanism.
- Note: Dosage should be individualized based on the patient’s condition and response, as prescribed by a healthcare provider.
