Product description:-Bupagen  150 SR is a sustained-release antidepressant formulation containing Bupropion Hydrochloride 150 mg, designed for once or twice daily use depending on clinical guidance. Bupropion is a norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor (NDRI), offering a non-sedating, non-weight gaining, and sexually neutral alternative in the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) and smoking cessation support.

Mechanism of action : Bupropion selectively inhibits the neuronal reuptake of norepinephrine and dopamine, enhancing neurotransmitter activity in the brain.This action improves mood and energy levels, reduces nicotine cravings,and has minimal effect on serotonin,which reduces common SSRI side effects.

Indications:- 

• Major depression
• Smoking de-addiction

Usual Adult Bupropion Dose for Seasonal Affective Disorder:

Extended-release tablets:

• Initial dose: 150 mg orally once a day in the morning, increased if necessary after 7 days to 300 mg orally once a day
• Maintenance dose: 150 to 300 mg orally once a day
• Maximum dose: 300 mg/day

• Dryness in mouth
• Agitation,
• Constipation,
• Weight loss,
• Tachycardia,
• Diaphoresis,
• Nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the throat and nasal passages),
• Blurred vision
